Frustrated

My family background is from Europe. I am finding it frustrating that a lot of jobs in my area need people to speak Spanish, but I am not from any part of Mexico, and find no need for me to learning it, when it is not a part of my family, so I have not been getting jobs due to being white. I am trying to move out of my area, it is getting bad the racism. Any ideas how to combat this while I am trying to move out of my city?

Expectation of language skills which enable conversation with clients isn't discrimination. While sympathetic to your plight, I've lived in cities with a large Hispanic population, but always found opportunities which didn't require Spanish. I'd keep looking, but different industries or job types.

How is that not discrimination? Turned down for a job in my country because I can't speak another country's language. Pitiful.
