Spur of the moment. I'm a veteran server/manager. Was GM for the last two years. The DM they hired was 23, inexperienced in everything but kissing butt. Tried for those two years to make it work with the new "boss". Mind you, I had been with the company 10 years to his 3 years .. He came from fast food, never working in a restaurant with a real dining room. My food/labor cost went from 57% to 68%. Finally I had to say goodbye, my sanity was worth more than a paycheck. Now working 3 jobs, a little hectic, but I'm happy. As our busy season is starting, I'm sure I'll drop one, or maybe just help out one day a week. It's just hard when my customers tell me how that DM is running a place I cared so much about into the ground. All I can say is the owners wanted a yes man and a butt kisser, and that's what they got.
