Trucker turned Lyft Driver

I made 50 cents a mile

Before I drove for Lyft I was a truck driver. I liked it alright. I got paid 50 cents a mile. I had days I turned in over 600 miles, and days I barely broke 200. I made around what an average teacher with tenure might make here in the states. But because I was paid by the mile, I didn't really know until the end of the year what the hell I actually made. All I knew is my goal was to drive as far and as often as I could safely. Not much has changed with Lyft except all I haul now are passengers. :)

That's great. Hope you enjoy what you're doing and you're happy. Because. In the end that's what counts.

Ever think about driving school bus, instead. Pays well. Home every night. Summers off, maybe, or drive for summer school or summer day camps.

If you are making the same money for less arduous work, then that represents a great improvement, because there is less stress on your body. However, Mr Lewis, you should be now pampering your body to help realize complete recovery from the bashing that is inflicted during hard trucking
