Hello Parys, Having customer service skills are key to any reception position. The first thing I would suggest is to become familiar with the position you are applying for. This will prepare you for not only the position but, the interview as well. A receptionist can do anything from answering phones, handing out mail, directing clients to the correct employee, keeping track of day today events, office preparation/ maintenance, lunch orders for internal and external meetings, ordering office supplies, keeping an inventory of office supplies and so much more. A receptionist is the offices' main point of contact. You are the first and last face seen by guest and employees which means you give first and last impression of the company. Companies want to know if you can be one to represent their company and keep the office running smoothly. I am now a Office Manager and I can tell you from my personal experience that attitude is everything. So the next time you go into an interview for a receptionist position, show them what you know they are looking for. The best you! Be confident, give eye contact and bring your personality to the table. Good luck!
