New mom
Is it reasonable to ask my boss to switch to part time instead of full?? I just became a mom and want to spend more time with my baby.

Kristi did you report this problem to higher authority, If not you should do so now and why do you think that your boss dosnt like you. What if your boss is trying to push you because he or she knows What your capable of doing.

if you re boss 'hates' you, id get out of there and forget about part time. Its not going to go anywhere and its toxic. You're better off taking a leap into the unknown and you'll find someone who 'loves' you and who you can grow with.

Hi Kristi,
First off, congratulations! A new baby is very exciting!!
And yes, you can feel free to ask your boss about switching to part time. You should be aware, though, that employers are not under any obligation to honor that request. Plus, as Elizabeth V. points out, there may be (and probably will be) changes to your benefits that will occur if you reduce your hours.
It will be helpful to your cause if you can think through how your boss will be able to get all of the work done - will the company need to hire someone to fill in for the time you're gone? Can you work a flexible schedule that will allow you to complete the work outside of normal business hours? (Some jobs can work this way, but not all.) Try to put yourself into your boss's shoes and help come up with solutions before you ask, if possible.
And good luck!

Of course it is ok to ask, But think it through. You may not qualify for certain benefits as part time such as Vacations, Holiday pay, insurance etc. Do you want PT permanent or temporary? Things like that, money too. Congratulations
I just got demoted after doing the job for 8 years and also my pay was lowered
