Saving my business from the dreaded statistics
I'm a disable war era veteran (desert Storm). I went through what most separated veterans has and will go through, that period of decompression, to be able to continue our means of providing in the most comfortably financial, and job rewarding opportunity way for our families, and more times than not it takes many years to realize that the employment that you've dragged yourself into, reveals the hidden truth of knowing that you unwittingly walked into the box of futility of establishing your constitutional rights of ownership and prosperity, that forever places you into one of the highest achievement a person can obtain, regardless of failure of the venture and or adventure depending on the outcome. My question/ advice needs is how to gain real and tangible assistance to maintain and prosper as an owner, other than the hands free traditional open ended scripts that's convoluted, and or confusingly unhelpful, from companies or organization that requirement is met was you've signed their intake sheets, wether in person or even form the form. I've had my business since 09, and because 90 percent of my skills was learn on the job, with little to no academic training, because it served their need that left you out there performing with no safety net for that moment the fall is immanent, and you find yourself in that debilitating position in the same handicap that not having a diploma high school and or college. I own a network company and had to relocate to New Orleans to experience success because the networking/ technology industry was considerably less competitive than the Midwest region, and not having certifications just add more water in a sea of much bigger fish that feeds on/off of we the little fish depending on how fast u can swim. I seeking substantive advice and or direction that will help me ensure that I'm able to continue my plight of prosperity and serving people, to do my part to help people in my category class of people, to thrive give them good pay, and industrial skills that academic degrees offer, for those of us was unable to obtain for whatever reason. When I was able to employ people, I made it a point to let them to so that they could pay it forward, by letting others know that they're life and livelihood doesn't deserve to be classified or just considered as a failure, because u didn't for whatever reason gotten a degree. Their completion of degrees are understandable best opportunity for the great American dream, but those lofty goals can never be met without the other half of people to make their aspirations as comfortable and as they deserve, that the blue collar built, clean and maintain a good and safe environment. I remind all of the potential employees not everyone was built for it, or unable to attend and or complete doesn't mean that they don't deserve lucrative opportunities to meet the needs of themselves and their families, and to the best of my knowledge the technology is one of the few industries that gives you that opportunity in the realm, be it on the lower financial level, but great pay and the valuable means of creating your legacy passing on a highly employable trade to your children, with the thirst of ownership the true American dream. Unfortunately for a lot of us small business owners lack of certifications despite my 30 years of hands on work experience, is fastly fading into oblivion, with no means, opportunities or knowledge of getting my company that certified stamp of approval, as well as becoming a company that's certified to certify future technicians in our field that will serve as an additional means of finances, outside of the labor portion we provide.
Anthony, I'm not sure I understand. Is it that you are unable to hire employees since you moved to New Orleans?
