Getting referrals
I’m having a tough time getting a referral from my old boss because he’s upset with me for quitting for other job options I have out there. They want to hire me, but need to see a referral. What should I do?

Since when do people check referencees. All they care about is do u have a felony and can u pass a Drug test. Grow up put a friend down if you need a reference. How stupid are you. There a jobs all over dont focus on one. Next time you fuck your boss have a job in waiting.

Be honest they must understand there can be problems between employees and managers

legally, companies and employers are required to provide a positive and favorable reference letter to avoid a court action preventing a person from pursuing gainful employment, regardless of the reasons for the separation. Ask human resource a letter of reference.

Don't use him as a reference.

I Caught My Manager Smoking in the Dollar General Bathroom ... I said something to her about it .. She had gotten mad at me and put me on a schedule to work only one day durning the week .. I also said to her I didn't feel like that was fare because I had told her she was doing something wrong herself .. So I had a customer come up to me told me the manager was saying bad things about me to other employees ... I'm a great person I'm a great worker ... I know that I am and my customers know that ... So now I'm looking for another job as well an. I don't want to put her name down cause I know I want get another job ...

Try getting referrals from co-workers or other people in the company that know your work ethics. Good Luck.

Just because he/she hates you doesn't stop you from getting that referral ask anyway.

did you work with capital cleaning

A referral can also be like a character reference letter. Don't you have any friends that are in management that can help you with a professional referral? For more information, you're welcome to call me at 901-763-3733. Good luck
Dear Patti, If you're fairly certain that your former boss will not offer a "positive" recommendation on your behalf, why not ask between 1-3 of the individuals that you had recruited. In the event that they are not only satisfied with their job, but are grateful for your assistance in the way you had handled things in getting them employed, simply ask if they would be kind enough to write a referral/recommendation with reference about you. Never include in your request anything with regard to your sudden departure! In fact, in the event should you contact a former coworker +/or a supervisor or manager from another department of your former employer, who were aware of your employment with the company, all you may suggest is that your possible new employer would like to have more than one supervisor or manager of your former employer submit a letter of recommendation. Again, allow me to remind you...NOT to discuss any reason as to why you had left; and the way you had gone about it! In most instances, anyone with some kind of "authority" over others, knowing the terms of an employee were less than satisfactory at the time of their departure, more than likely will not offer any recommendations. So be careful what you say and to whom! Best of Luck with your future endeavors!
