I am 57 years old and have been looking for a job every single day since mid-February this year. Ageism is real but I've beat the odds. On average it takes someone over 55 10 months to find that gem of an employer who is not an ageist. I start my new job tomorrow...almost 7 months to the day from when I started my search. My preferred field of Administrative or Executive Assistance is particularly a tough one since men prefer to hire the cutie patootie type. Every potential employer has their excuse but none have a good reason for being how they are. To all of you over 50, let's just call a snake a snake and move on. We wouldn't want to work for them anyway and the faster we move on, the faster we find the gem. Good luck to everyone and remember you are not alone in this struggle. Be Blessed!
