The next envelope stuffing scam
Hi, I've been hearing a lot about virtual assistants. Is this something that you can really earn a great salary at or just the next great scam.

How do I get started

I get the feeling these are all scams, most want you to invest money in the program they are selling. If you are just providing research, or searching and there is no cost to you, you can try it out. But be careful you are not breaking any laws, such as illegally shipping products to other states or countries. Ask for their business license number and where they are incorporated or has a license. I think the risk, outweighs the benefits of these so called jobs, Many of these are preying on the people desperate to find work, and let them take the risk.

don't know. not in it.

I have had 3 people email and text me asking me to be virtual assistant. Their grammar was so bad you can tell they didnt speak english and it was all an illegal scam involving me printing fake checks and sending them thru stolen UPS accounts. They all couldnt give me real names of their companies and coincidentally enough all of their websites were not valid due to website maintenance or hackers. Beware of them as they can get you in trouble with federal government

The answer to your question. I personally would not be interested in a virtual assistant job because the salary is way below minimum wage. It's not a scam. Homeland security has a virtual assistant if you are curious. I hope this was helpful.

Hi Deborah. I was actually recommended for a Virtual Assistant opportunity by my Unemployment Case Worker in 2009 when I was laid off from my employer. I joined groups and organizations and advertised. As with other similar type of opportunities, I did not make any money while using this title as a means of employment. Now, when I see job openings of this type or am offered financial services or MLM opportunities. I just pass them up. Tested them out. Not for me.

Some of the most successful motivational speakers and independent representatives have virtual assistants. They are right here in the US. You don't have to pay their overhead just their salary. You can work for several people which gives you a solid income.

I've been asked to do something like this for an artist/military gentleman in P.A. There is no envelope stuffing so far, just computer stuff. He gave a generous wage figure. I have his contact info and everything. I'm not sure about this though.
