Hi Brandon Matthews - I would keep pressing your managers and company about your intended career path. However, try to think about it another way - what do they gain out of you doing what you intend too for the rest of your career?
It can be hard to see for them why they would help you get there if there is no gain for them in the company. However, if you can sell it as a win for the company, you are more than likely to get their help.
In the end, if that doesn't work, you can try to stay in your current role and look at other companies that are in your field and try to get a job with them. 5 years of experience is a lot, and you shouldn't be afraid to try and make that jump! Just keep in mind, it is much easier to get a job when you are already employed.
Best of luck Brandon. The community is here for you!
