IDK

I start working in Subway for about a month ago. I wanted to switch my days and work Monday instead of Friday. But, the owner is very strict and gets mad very easy. What should I do?

Before asking, find out if the business is as busy Monday as it is on Fridays. The owner probably has hired you to cover the times on the schedule when things are busy. If it is just a one-time thing, then ask well in advance, before she has the schedule set up for the next period of time, to see if you can have it off. If your school schedule has changed, that is a good reason to request a permanent schedule change - but, it may make a difference in the weekly number of hours you get.

I have no idea how you request exchange days, but I would asked oppose to demanding a change. If unable to change day off to another day, and I would be content with day until further notice! If this is your first request I would submit it!

Klara, you should be able to ask the manager if you can switch days; however, you also need to remember that there are times people are hired because they can work on certain days or at certain times.

My son's pet peeve with new hirees at his fast food store, are those who sign up to work the late evening shift, and within a few weeks go to the manager to say they cannot work it anymore, leaving his crew overworked and understaffed.

Personally speaking,,Mondays are the best day to have off,,your kicked back while everyone else is at work having a typical Monday,,,I would go with the flow,,show your very strict owner that it doesn't bother you,,,in fact that you really enjoy having Monday off...your new and improved outlook will get you very far very quickly..remember that you are only there for one month,,a display of flexibility on your part will lead to flexibility on their part...also Friday is probably a much busier day...sooo I would also suggest setting out a tip jar...be creative,,always be thinking outside the box,,be that special employee that the customers come to see,,make your job fun,,,before you know it,,,you'll be making the work schedule...Good luck...

I suggestst you write out your request. This will avoid any confrontation with the manager. Remember to not tales things personal, your there to do your job.! If the manager is totally unreasonable I would continue looking for a new job! God luck.

Find an employee that is able to cover your shift and both explain to him that the days off requested will be covered

Talk to an employee that you are able to switch the days off requested with and both explain to the manager that you are able to cover each others shifts.

Myou advice about that is the company may need you more on Fridays instead of Mondays because Thursday pretty much starts the weekend for most companies.
