Senior Manager at Ncr Corporation

Changing a career. I do not want to manage teams or people any more.

I am asking this group on advice. I have been in management in software and gaming. But I am tired and burnt out. Managing teams both local, remote and offshore, I am looking to use my talent and skills to be a individual contributor. Such as a Project Manager or Business Analyst. But the answer I hear is that I am over qualified. Is it the money. Money is not the driving factor anymore. Its doing something I am passionate about and enjoy the interactions of working with cross functional teams.

Any advice?

Hi Ted: I'd start by checking out freelance sites like Upwork and Guru - you'll find TONS of employers posting projects you might be great for.

Hi Ted: Sorry to hear you're burnt out about something you're so passionate about. Let me ask - have you ever considered becoming a consultant or freelancing? You won't have to spend your entire day managing teams (or being around people, to be honest), but you can still make money and choose to focus on the projects you're most excited about. Let me know what you think!
