Open-ended contract?
So after months of searching for a new job, I was finally offered a position with a major pharmaceutical company. Now when I was offered this position, I was told it would be for only three weeks. Then I had to wait while my background check and drug screen was processed. This took a few days longer than expected, so instead of starting last week I will be starting on the 21st. When I asked about the duration of the contract, I was told, "That's up in the air right now." Now I am still in conversation with other recruiters for other job opportunities with longer contracts. My question: How to handle this open-ended contract when speaking with other recruiters? Who knows, maybe they've changed their minds and want me to work there for 6-12 months.

I gave Jobcase my application 2 days ago and no response. I don't what they are doing.

That sucks.

If you believe in yourself and are willing to outwork everyone, regardless of by,BET ON YOURSELF!

Congrats and all the best in your new career!

I thought the word was conversing, not conversation.

Hello,
In situations like this it's best not to mention that you're to be working what is likely a short-term contract position. You never volunteer information unless you have by default, and in this case other recruiters can and will disregard you the moment you mention you're working a contract position right now, so you want to conduct other interviews with recruiters as if you're not working at all. You need to see what other options you have available to you and until one gives you either a longer contract or a permanent position, you keep that door open for now.

Gobbledygook

Can speculate what they are doing One thing for sure they are taking care of themselves Take care of yourself Go out there and get another two or three offers so you feel you have options This makes you less vulnerable

Spent $30 to send the application, and no one responded. Why isn't the office at least letting me know they have it or put in the basket?
