I've put applications in for Lowes, Pet Smart, Bjs, Home Depot, Target, and Walmart. It's been nearly 3 months no word from any. What did i do wrong in the process?

I once applied for a retail job and they didn't call me to work for over 3 months so don't take it as a definite no. Sometimes they gather applicants prior to the actual time they want to start interviewing for the position or any number of other scenarios that have nothing to do with you. Due to the fact that most online apps are read by computers and not necessarily a person the more your application comes through and has the key words they are looking for the more your chances increase. Calling and following up shows professionalism while making your name and face familiar. Alyssa and Jane are on point... The squeaky wheel gets the oil.

I don't think your doing anything wrong but I know from experience that these companies a can take from 8-12 weeks to respond if you meet the qualifications their looking in an applicant to fill the job. Call or visit the store in person to check you employment application status.

Apply again and go to the Companies in person.

Find their phone numbers and ask for the Hiring Manager.

Be persistent. Call and go there in person.

Maybe your resume is getting lost in the Applicant Tracking System. This is how to get your resume noticed, and get it approved by the applicant tracking system: https://www.themuse.com/advice/beat-the-robots-how-to-get-your-resume-past-the-system-into-human-hands
