Ignoring all financial considerations, would you rather spend the next 5 years confined to an urban mecca like New York City, or a beautiful, isolated town on the California coast?

What is this? What are you trying to get at with this question? Are you trying to help me find a better job? Please get to the point.

Tim,
I can't imagine living in the concrete jungle. I have visited NY MANY times, and while it is fun to spend a few days there, I know my limitations and I am definitely not a dazzling urbanite.
Give me a coastal town any day. I don't necessarily even require it to be warm and sunny. I spent a few months on a job in Ketchikan, Alaska and I LOVED it. It was so beautiful and relaxing and life just moved at a different speed. I would live there if they had better job opportunities. Sadly, it is mostly a tourist town 4 months out of the year and after that, it is a blue collar kind of island.
I am definitely a coastal town kind of guy.
