Interview - Wait time

What is the average wait time for one to land a job they desire? I had resigned from my previous role in December 2018 due to my father's illness which was followed by his demise. I had to leave to my home country for 3 months to recuperate and settle a few things for my mother. I was back on March 19 and started looking around mid of the month. Have given few interviews but nothing clicked so far. I was just curious to know how it works for other applicants.

Interesting question Veena Venugopal but there is no silver bullet answer to this one. There's simply too many unknown variables employers don't typically publicize during the recruiting and hiring process.

I've been told that a typical entry level job opening can take an applicant 6-12 weeks from online application to first day on boarding orientation while other companies might host an on the spot hiring event where an applicants first day is within 24-72 hours from application completion.

Try not to look at getting hired in terms of time (timeline). Focus on getting noticed first. That's a very big challenge among job seekers today.
