My advice to people interested in working at #USAirForce as a #Secretary ...

Whether being in the military or working for the military is was always a great experience. You always have room to grow and learn more. You also have the opportunity to travel and go to school.

The advice is start out of the lowest level. Usually a GS-3. You can always advance but of course with each level, GS-4/GS-5/GS-6 there is more responsibility. If you are married to a military member, this is a good way for a wife to start her career and be able to move that career each time her husband does and not loose her seniority. Sometimes it is just getting your foot in the door, like any business. Once you are in, figure out if you want to stay a secretary or go into something else. Get some schooling underneath you for the career you are looking to get into. Civil Service encourages individuals to advance. Just make sure that you do the best you can do in the job you are working in! You will get a yearly rating which goes into your civilian work files. When you decide and feel that you are qualified for an advancement, you want the best ratings you can get.
