Why i have not worked in 5 years
I know it's been over 5 years since the last time i worked but i was sick then,i had a heart attach in October 2013 but i do feel a lot better now and i really need a job i am a really quick learner at almost any job but i do have over 6 years experience in stocking.

@ Chris -
Unfortunately, the reality of this lengthy unemployment gap works against you rather than for you. First, not actively working in five years has now made you become unskilled in the workforce. In the eyes of employers you have lost all form of skill sets during this time and this makes it more challenging for you to gain employment again. It's not impossible but you can expect it to be frustrating when trying to seek employment.
Secondly, you suffered a heart attack and as such you needed the time to get better, which you did, but this is also another setback for you into regaining employment because you're also viewed as a health risk. A lot of employers might/can/will see this as a red flag and tend to avoid considering you [or anyone] for potential employment offers to those with a history of health issues, especially major ones as it's costly and not something they want to do if/when you could potentially fall back into your medical issue, suffer another heart attack or worse which would make you incapable of working, maybe ending up on disability that a company is just not willing to accept financial responsibility for. Sadly, we live in a world where medical and health recovery are taboo and somehow being away from the workforce for too long taints individuals. Mental and physical health are ignored, judged and overlooked.
It's good that your health has improved and you want to work again but this can all change the moment you're back in an active workforce, and would all be so sudden. Not to mention your adjustment to working again after five years of inactivity. On a mental level, this may impact you that even you aren't prepared for because you don't know what or how you'll be when working again. Employers aren't focused on your past (6) years of experience when it's all irrelevant now due to your five year unemployment gap. This means that because you've been inactive for (5) years you really only have (1) year experience now, but you won't see it in that perspective.
Employers are focused on the following:
- What you have done in those five years to keep yourself consistent?
- How have you managed to focus on maintaining or refreshing your skill set?
- How have you financially supported yourself during this five year gap?
- How will you will apply what you have learned with the attempt to return to the workforce again, if you've learned anything?
Think about this. Again, it's not impossible to gain employment again but it will be challenging for you. Best of luck.

Have you been to temporary agencies? try the closest two to where you live. I just got hired, it is part time, and better than not working plus keep up your self esteem. You are valuable.

Is there any reason you haven't tried the insurance companies?

Thanks for the response,it shows that as long as you don't give up on life, thete IS a chance to carry on with God's plan and Will, and no for can oppose Him

My friend was telling me her son got arrested for using and dealing meth. That got him a police record, therefore, he could not find employment for ten years; he was a stay-at-jome dad, basically. Things turned around for him when he got hired by a Temp agency called Quest (he's in Southern California)..
Yes, you can still do light duties like answering phones. Yesterday, through a job recruiter, I got an interview With a Toyota dealership for a position scanning documents all day. The position is not physically demanding, just boring. I probably won't get this Job, because I interviewed like crap ( had an off day) and she couldn't believe I had a university degree, but had worked as a janitor, housekeeper, dishwasher. Have faith;I was convicted of a felony 20 years ago. I still can't get health care jobs (even with the expungement and certificate of rehabilitation). But thing are better than 15 years ago. In the grand scheme of things, it really doesn't matter because we all croak in the end. Life has made me the clown I am. Nomi, former Walmart Clown.

Everyone who works at Walmart get sick me too

Apply online at Wal-Mart, then call at least once a week just to let them know you are serious about wanting a job at Wal-Mart.

Where do you live
If you live in Mass, apply at Dollar Tree in Milford
