Job closure
Well I received a phone call from my manager 2 day's ago and was told the restaurant I have been working at is permanently closing as of 8p.m. that night. Definitely didn't see that coming and I still haven't received my unemployment here in Florida. It's been over a month. This pandemic has turned the world upside down. Bills keep coming. Landlord still collecting $1000 a month for rent. Anyways I know so many of you are in similar situations and my heart goes out to you as well. We all just need to stay strong and positive. 💖
I was told to call at 7 am when they opened. I did reach someone at 645pm tonight, but need "processing department " who were already gone for the day. Guess I'll be up and on phone at 7am
Same here , my employer let go of the director and sales team. I have no job to return to. And it's been 2 1/2 months and no unemployment benefits. They even stopped the 600 federal aid as of May 19th. Bill's still coming in. Has to cancel cable, car payments due or they're coming for it. Landlord still collecting 1300.00 monthly. I have no income at all. I dont even have copays for heart medications and or insulin. I dont know what else to do.. I have called non stop to unemployment and they keep telling me only a supervisor can help..well guess what!!! A supervisor is NEVER AVAILABLE! AND I NEED MEDICATIONS 8 PER DAY... AND INSULIN 2 TIMES A DAY. And all bills.. phones about to be disconnected soon. And still no help. I dont know what else to do im feeling desperate, depressed, and have anxiety.. and yet I pray for all in need to get their issues resolved as soon as possible. I try to Stay positive it's all I can do.

Same thing happened to me! Was with the same employer for years. One week before my 4yr anniversary the entire center shut down. Having difficulty with unemployment because i was given two weeks of severance pay.

I hear you Kelly, I just recently applied for a new job because of this pandemic, the company I work for now is UPS, I used to work for HomeTown Buffet here in Portland Oregon, so I know what you're going through, you be safe and be strong, we'll all get through this together.
I lost my job 3 weeks ago bc of COVID but my employer, Columbia Fruit, blames it on my lack of performance when I had no problems at work and even have a thank you card from the president which was hand-delivered for doing a great job. They promoted me and a month before they let me go my boss told me I was doing “a great job”. I don’t even know if I can collect unemployment. I’ve been frantically searching for a job with all my bills as well. Thank you for sharing your story. I am praying for you, dear one. Prayer is powerful. You’re so not alone. All the best to you!
