My daughter cheated out of money

I want to know, how you can be working for a Temp Agency making 11.25 an hour? Get hired full-time by the company and only make 10 dollars an hour. Something is not right about that. I wonder if my daughter is lying to me? I thought you would make more. Right?

Yes, generally anytime your hired from a temporary agency to work full time you make more money not less. What sense would it make to not continually work for the temp agency if you're making less money. I hate to have and tell you this but your daughter is lying to you in my opinion. I wouldn't go for that story at all. Temp agency get paid so many dollars an hour for each rep they send out so generally the job pays say $15 an hour. The temp agency partner with the company and says ok we will pay the employee $11 an houR and pocket $4. When you get hired permanent the employer says ok no middle man so we will give you the difference of what they were taking and you get hired on at $15 an hour.

Sometime a temp company takes out their payment off the top. They get paid a certain amount for their srevices.

One more advice always discuss pay before signing anything whether it's temp to perm or tempting Long Jevity. There are good agencies and some are not please do your homework before joining or signing. Don't be the fool.

Doublecheck her paystub or call the agency to see if there was a miscommunication. Usually 99% temp jobs to perm is higher or same until the following pay increase terms.

$10/hr is her salary. You have to figure in what her benefits as a full time worker are. Add those up, and she might be doing better than $11.25/hr.

There is a possibility that the Holiday may have boosted her income. I work for a company that uses temp agencies frequently. The temp agency collects up to 50 percent extra on one employee. IE: $10.00 goes to employee $15 is being paid by the requesting company. Also, the starting rate for all companies may be different than what The Temp Agency is willing to pay. So, she may have lost a buck, but, think of all the benefits she will be eligible for after the 90/60 day review. It may have helped her a lot, especially if she enjoys the job she is doing.
