After your interview you never heard back!
If you are like me you get interviews, but sometimes you never get beyond the first round. This has taught me a few things I want to share.
One, your resume is good enough to get you an interview. Celebrate and recognize that. It's a job well done.
Second, your interviewing skills are lacking and need some help. No shame in that.
Ask your friends and family to help you with a mock interview. I have had my cousins help me out a few times. Give them the job description, and they can ask questions that will closely match what you can expect for a certain position. Find someone that will be BRUTALLY honest, and be sure to be open to their criticisms. They are trying to help you. Work on your responses, and continue to improve until you receive mostly positive feedback from them.
A good recruiter should give you a deadline of when you can expect to hear back. If they don't, be sure to ask at the end of the interview. If it's been 24 hours after you were told you would hear back, sending an e-mail or calling is appropriate to thank them for their time and follow up.
Be proactive, and don't wait on a company!! Act like you don't have anything in the works, until you have an offer in your hands. If a company isn't getting back to you after multiple attempts, it may not be the type of place you want to work anyway and it's their loss.

You are so right. Thing is, I'm 54 and have never had a interview over the phone. I have been in the food industry for over 20 years. What happened to the personal touch? Technology has killed it. So,a lot of companies are going to miss out on some good people!

I am so sorry that I forget reply to you

Mr. Harrison,
You could not word it best... In order to get to the mountaintop at times, you will need to ask questions and those who have gotten to the top, who have a spirit of humility will definitely make sure that you also reach the mountaintop and celebrate YOU.
There are still people out there who are willing to be someone's wind beneath their wings.
Thank you for sharing!
