Should call backs or some kind of correspondence to future employees be mandatory for companies that are hiring?

If a person totally bombs an interview, chats excessively or otherwise, is qualified, but does not interview good for whatever reason, he/she has a right to know why they were not hired. I am speaking from experience because I have had several phone and in person interviews that I felt went well, and some where I was called back for a second interview, only to never hear from the company again, and not know what I did wrong or if I did anything wrong? I am left wondering and possibly to make the same mistake on future interviews (if there was a mistake) because no one ever told me and I was never given the chance to correct it?

Hi Nischelle, I had the same concern when I started job searching again but learned that most recruiters are encouraged not to provide any specific feedback out of fear that it can be misconstrued by applicants and used to demonstrate discrimination in the hiring process.

Hi Nischelle: I'd love it if employers were able to do that - it would certainly be helpful in terms of improving interview behaviors. Unfortunately I think a lot of employers may not have the time to give feedback on every candidate, especially since they have to juggle interviews with all their other job roles. I suggest practicing your interviews with a family member or friend - that way, you can get the feedback you need. Hopefully this helps!
