This week marks my fist 30 days into my new job. I never thought that I’d like Food Service, but at the hospital I’m working at, I’m really good at it. Who knew that every job in my past would benefit me in this one. I’m a Traymate at UAB Medical West in Bessemer, AL. They have a carousel that the patients’ trays go on. The paperwork, etc. I know as a cook in a daycare. The best part, the exchanges with the patients, especially the elderly ones. Some look so lonely so I do my best to cheer them up. One elderly woman who had the most beautiful smile I’ve ever seen, told me I make her day a little better. I’m glad I could help keep that smile going. Like I said, I love my job.
