Hey, I am 16 and I have a job interview at Sears later today. Can someone give me tips on important details to say? I know I have to be myself but I want to stand out and actually get this job. What's the best thing to let the company know about me? What are they mainly looking for? All help is appreciated!!
sunkissedkii . How did it go??
Be prepared, see if you can read the job description for the position you applied for. Everyone likes a person who looks fresh, speaks clearly, dresses professionally, sounds honest and is INTERESTED. That means you ask questions too, not just them. Your questions should be about the job (NOT the salary, they will tell you what it is somewhere along the conversation). If the position is inside the stores, they'll train you. If it is a clerical position in an office they will ask you for typing, writing, filing, mailing, math, ten-key, internet, and social media skills. So, be prepared. The accent will be on how well you get along with others as well as how helpful and alert you are.
Be prepared have a resume dress professionaly and pay attention to the interviewer. If they are professional be careful how you answer and be yourself and honest and check out your internet profiles and comments.
Listen to what they ask and only answer appropriately. Only offer personal details if they ask you too and never share your personal life with coworkers or bring your home to work and your work to your home. Good luck!!
Hello. Did you get the job??
In my opinion you need to show enthusiasm for the job. My advice to you is that you find a job in something that is of interest to you as something that will further your career. Something that will be good for you when you graduate high school and/or college and you can build on it for a good life. If this is what this job is you want to be dressed for success and you want to be early for any interviews and show some research into the company. This will give you some knowledge of the company before they offer employment. Know what they do, what they sell, maybe something about how they market goods and services. This will give them the idea that you have gone out of your way to learn something about the company and give them the idea that even without experience in the job, you have some experience because you are knowledgeable about the position you are applying for and the company in which the position is offered.
You didn't indicate the post you are called for the interview. The best thing to let the company know about you is that you are the right person for the job. It all depends upon how you present yourself and justify the panel that you are indeed the right person they are looking for. All the best to you Sunkissedkii. May GOD be with you.
That your a strong TEAM worker. You have excellent attendance. Very happy to work for a great company. Love learning new skill sets to go add to what you already know. Your are a fast learner. Love workibg with customers. I hope this helps. Jim
The best way to get the job is to answer all questions honestly. Express your interest in going forward with this company. Be willing to learn more about the type of training that they have and also open up to the point of view about the way that you can make a difference. In you are greatness that they cannot afford to let walk out the door. Let them know that you came to be the difference in the company.
