Cdl Truck Driver at Baileys

Not a fan

A lot of places are trying out self driving trucks saying it will make trucking freight safer and cheaper. Anybody who has driven a truck knows that it’s NOT that easy. What happens if a steer tire blows out?! Or if the weather is crap? Computers can’t fix everything. I honestly never liked the idea of self-driving anything. I feel like I am in the Twilight Zone. Anyone else?

I’m an LTL Driver with about 15 deliveries a day that come off the truck by my power , not to mention any pick ups that get sent to me. I would like to see any self driving truck do that

They do that at the Loves in Odessa every year. The only people getting the free food are the fourwheelers traveling.

I do like the idea but I wouldn't ride inside one by myself. You're right anything could happen...the car could drive you to the wrong destination or it could drive you into the ocean and lock the doors where you can't get out and you drown. They gonna have to do some in extensive research before sending self driving cars on the market.

I have crossed the Rockies when you couldn't even tell where the road was. How will a self driving truck be able to see any lines or markers?

I have had to back into places that took 20 pullups to squeeze in very tight messy yards and docks

What are self driving trucks going to do when the electricity goes out , assembly lines breakdown? Where will the stage when other trucks keep piling up. I have had this happen in big cities. Some times I had to drive a long ways away to wait and call to find out when it's fixed and cleared.
