Owner Director at Big Stone Eagle Inc

Over 700 Resumes and 3 interviews with one job offer in the past 8 MONTHS!!!!!!! It takes at least two months for a bigger corporation to respond. Many times the job is gone. This entire process is like a Shark feeding frenzy, your damn lucky to get a bite. Be patient, make sure your resume has all the keywords (thats what they are looking for). You will start getting calls.

It's probably just a basic background check for now. People in healthcare are at risk so it makes sense. Also, a lot of people embellish their resumes. I know that health, education and security all require background checks. Even photographers who work with children are background checked. Don't take it personally.

I'd suggest you run your own background check so you can see what potential employers are seeing. There may be something negative there you don't know about.

They may have you confused with someone else with same name. Find how to investigate and make sure your records are correct.

Correct Supervisor Manager at Servicemaster Cleaning Solutions Inc

Hi Gerald, I have worked on both sides of the coin. As a C.N.A. and as a Director of Human Resources for a home care company. For both times they ran a background check and offered the job on the contingency that it and the drug test came back clean. When I began hiring I also did the same thing interview, then offer with contingency it came back clean. Never did we do the background first. A national background check can cost anywhere from $25 and up. Why would you do it for someone you are not sure you were going to hire? Hang in there, you'll find the right place.

Sweetie, The healthcare field is a very sensitive area. You are dealing with a lot of sick people, confidential information and many other touchy areas. The background check is to see if you have anything that would bar you from working a can or stna. They probably want to do a check to make sure you are the right candidate to bring in so they won't waste anytime. You will be fine unless you have something that should not be there. Best of luck. You will love the work.
