Is this possible?
Hello everyone! I am curious and wanted to ask you all if it is possible to do an internship out of state? If anyone has done it, how did you do it? Thanks!

Never did before

not sure

NO....just move.

Threw your School ask to be transferred to what state and school are you receiving fasa if so after first year you can transfer

Hi Jennifer, I guess that would depend on what type of internship you are talking about. If something which is regulated by the state then more than likely you would need to do your internship in that state, not in all cases though! You can google the subject and find out more info through Blogs and such! If it is a licensed by state career, google license requirements and the state! Good luck!

I never did that....sorry I can't give u the advice

I did an internship in Washington, DC (I live in Illinois). My advice would be to get as much information as possible about the internship and the city it is located in before making any kind of decision. Make sure the wages will be enough to live on and that you'll be able to find a place to live. It is possible to do this but make sure you're well prepared for everything. Best of luck to you!

That is actually something you'd NEED to speak w your school abt, in order to be authorized to do so, as well as where; ESPECIALLY IF you are using student loans & grants during your internship exercises... some schools dont authorize it and you could risk serious trouble w/out credits, if you rail against going through proper channeling! Please speak w ur student advisor at your school. Thx.

Connect with your school, with students resources. They can help you with that.
My son did it several years ago. We just got him an apartment in that city. It was a paying internship, if you consider $10.00 an hour pay. So we paid for his apartment, and insurance, he paid for his living expenses
