Never Give up
So here is my story... similar to many people here, i only had a high school diploma. I had decent jobs and great jobs, but that was it.. they were only jobs. I have made 6 figures in mortgage sales and currently work for one of the largest unions in the nation. I do well, but i wanted more. What did i do about it? I enrolled in a community college in the bronx, NY, recently graduated through blood, sweat and tears and now i have an associates degree as a Registered Nurse. many community colleges offer programs similar to the RN and healthcare is the future. If this is something that you think you can do, and trust me, if i can do it anyone can do it, I'd strongly recommend a serious consideration into this field. Think big and dream big. I know you can all do something great with your lives. It takes a few years, but you will have a career that you can do almost anything with.
Currently I am enrolled into a senior university working on my BSN and will eventually get my masters as a family nurse practitioner. look up salary for nurses and maybe that will motivate you to consider obtaining a career instead of just a "job". Best of luck.

Isaac, what a wonderful story to share with the jobcase community. I'm glad to hear that you have discovered your niche. It's not easy to do and some folks try a lifetime. Good for you! All the best to you and God speed finishing school.

If you aren't scared of relocating, move. My sister is an RNCC and makes around $30 an hour in a small town, imagine what you can make in the city.

Congrats!!! I did the same thing. .... started at Laguardia community to CUNY BA and got my degrees. It was a struggle but i finished. Ive been looking for work for about 5 months but im positive ill get something soon.

Get it!

Great for the younger generation,I do not want to go to school.I don't have 2 to 3 years to become a super star. All I want is a decent job and a place to live.Wont be working more than 3 more years.

Skeptical, associate degree does not equal RN

Congratulations. I'm happy for u. Thanks for the incouragement

Sounds like you would be a good role model for disadvantaged teens. Good luck.

I joined the army. Took night school. Took clep tests. Retired as a cw4. Plus GS 12. Medical care for life. Stop complaining. Get a job.
