Medical Assistant Receptionist
Report
over a year
I've been trying to find another job for over a year. My current employer yelled at me in front of a patient and cursed at me and told me to leave. He did apologize and blamed it on his sugar. I than found out that the part timer we had, that left, that I am now doing her work, was getting paid a dollar less than me. I am the receptionist, assistant and assistant office manager. I asked for a raise and was told that it was not possible. I apply to all these jobs and nothing. I am very qualified. Why will no one hire me? I can't survive on my salary. It is stressing me out. I feel like I am stuck because I don't have a degree, but I have over 20 years experience. I am at my wits end

Hi Maria, That is frustrating when you are doing a lot of work and not being compensated for it. Have you been following up on the applications you have already submitted? If not, I would definitely recommend doing that as it can really help you to move forward in the hiring process. Also make sure you are taking a little time for yourself. Find some time to read a good book, take a bath, go for a run - anything that helps you to de-stress a little. You'll find it helps you to stay focused during the other times when you are working or dong applications. Hope that helps!
