Experienced Executive Sales Professional

What do I do now that jobs s falling through?

For the last year I have searched high and low for a job. My qualifications are pretty extensive and I have a master of science. For the majority of my adulthood I've been self employed, and pretty successful at the businesses I've owned. In 2008 I quit working so I could care for my mother who had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's. She died in 2016. Since then I opened another company, and then decided to pursue an executive level position in sales or business development. .I'm a natural with people, have all of the qualities of a great leader and can command a team of sales people pretty easily. Every job I've applied for has come up empty. I've studied every job searching technique that's out there, but as of right now nothing. What could I possibly be doing wrong? I'm 48 and wonder if it's my age preventing me from getting my foot in the door. Any advice would be stellar.

James, 48 is not old at all perhaps you should redo your resume and cover letter to tailor it to the job that you want. JobCase can help you with that just go into your profile and click on it and it will get you started or it can even format your existing resume. It sounds like you have some pretty extensive experience and expertise so if I were you I think I would market myself. Get some business cards and create a website marketing your skills. I have no doubt in no time at all you will have a job you love. Sales jobs are plentiful and that in itself is a plus to get back out there and start selling those skills. God Bless TYJ

Your work background looks pretty diverse James Casey . Are you targeting your previous experience to specifically fit into the jobs you're pursuing? Would you say your biggest job search challenge is landing interviews or landing job offers after interviews?

Add the company names for the job you have listed onto your profile. Hiring Managers like to see who you've worked for in the past.
