I didn't get the job?
I got a voicemail saying I got the job and come sometime for orientation. However I missed the call because my phone was not charged. It two days late, is there still hope?

I was in Paris on a vacation and someone actually stole my phone and we had to get me another one that we had to work for two days to get right! I appreciate all the suggestions and the remarks about my not being "unreliable" but U have worked for law firms for over 39 years and never been fired. My daughter passed away after being critically ill for three years and having a birth defect and 37 operations before she was in the hospital for about two years and making modifications to my condo to accommodate her dialysis, which I had to give her at home, I quit my job because I was grieving and wanted to work at home. Because I had taken care of her myself all those years (her dad did not help me at all after divorce and usually working two or three jobs, I felt like I needed a break and some time to grieve and get myself back to normal. Working at home will give me more peace of mind and a chance to work and make a living while at home. Thank you for your advice but my phone WAS dead because it was STOLEN! My fiancé helped me get another one as soon as we could.

Did u ever get that job?

I know that you have already gotten a lot of answers and opinions on this question of yours. I had an almost similar situation happen to me. I checked my phone one evening and found out that I had gotten a request to come in for an interview for a job at a University that I had been waiting on. That call was received on my phone almost a week later (?) My phone really has had this happen one time before (a good phone and company, however, does not seem to be really unusual as I have spoken to people about this having happened to them as well). At any rate, I did call back the very next morning explaining that I had that issue and asked if the position was still open and could I reschedule an interview. I did not get any kind of call-back, but I felt better in that I did my best to respond and just chalked it up to, not the "one that got away", but to "everything happens for a reason", and just decided that it was not meant for me to have that particular position. Good luck if you are still deciding what to do.

There are other factors to consider. It depends on the position and the company. Hiring managers for bigger companies may not take notice. If you missed orientation then you are out of luck most likely. As a hiring manager, I do not look for an immediate call back. You need to consider the offer and that is understandable. However, I do prefer a courtesy call to let me know you received the offer and will consider it. If I have an immediate need, I will tell you, please let me know within a specific period of time. But not all companies rush to the next candidate.

have to call to find out.
