SCAM/FRAUD!!!!! Keisha, I am so glad I signed in to my account today. I was hired via Zip Recruiter by a guy named Lizzy Brandon. We have been in contact via email and text over the last three weeks. He stated we would meet face to face, show me the new office when he got back in town. I immediately started to question my self, but because it was through Zip Recruiter I put the idea out of my head. Friday April 17, 2017 he contacted me saying he had sent an email I didn't respond to, so I opened it and he stated I should be receiving a check to buy supplies, that would be needed for his new office location. But over the weekend he started asking several times a day if I had received it, I answered no Monday came and it still had not arrived. Just so happened it had been damaged in deliver so it was late no big deal. I let him know that I had received and would deposit and let him know when it cleared. School vacation just so happened to be this week, I had taken a day off to spend with family. So I got my computer out and looked the bank up, it did assist and was with the BBB. So I called to see if the check was good and funds available. The bank representative asked the information on the check as it was a cashier's check. It felt just like regular paper no information except for bank information It came from Jake Smith and was for $4,811.00 I was to take my first week of pay out of this. The bank representative told me it was a fraud that the check number did not exist. So I asked about he bank branch it was correct, but the person who sent it was not. I am heading to the police station, informing the BBB, Attorney General, Zip Recruiter. As long as no one reports things of this nation it will continue, the public need to be aware.

Hi Jacquelyn, you're so right! The two things we can do to combat scammers is 1) educate ourselves and others about the signs of a scam, and 2) report scammers! If you see anyone acting scammy here please email info@jobcase.com with the user's profile link. Thanks for keeping the community educated and safe!
