It's not just women who don't feel safe out here. You always have to be alert to your surroundings. When the curtains are closed you don't know what is happening while you're asleep. If you're really concerned the best thing to do is get a dog in the truck. They will alert you, and protect you from a lot of things, and they will always show you love away from home.

I've been doing this 30 yrs and haven't really had many issues. I don't park in the inner city and sleep, I don't go inside of rest areas after dark. Most of it is just using your head and watching your surroundings. I have parked on mor Ethan one occasion and ended up just moving the truck due to shady characters. Get a dog to run with you. It will help keep you safe

Knew a couple woman drivers and most of them park under a light pole during night hrs if they could.

Be aware of your surroundings. Walk like you know what you're doing. Keep a tire thumper handy...carry mace....at night, pull your seat belts through your door handle. I've been out here for 10 years and never had a problem.
