Meijer application tips

Meijer is ALWAYS hiring talent in our stores. Many times the job postings on the web site are not a true reflection of needs in you local store. I suggest contacting the store and asking about position openings. Also, the application process asks what areas you're interested in working however, at the hiring end, the manager reviewing applications to set up interviews can only see the area chosen first by the applicant. When reviewing applications I make it a point to contact people and ask if they have interest in interviewing for meats, even if not indicated on their application. If you have interest in a specific area make contact with the manager of that area during a shopping visit. The manager will be happy to give you a brief discription of job duties and needs in their area.

Flying the friendly skies

Greg, I have applied online numerous times for a job at Mejier but I usually go for customer service, cashier, or grocery stocking positions. I have seen job openings for meat, deli, and bakery departments but I never apply because I don't have any experience. Should I apply anyway if I'm willing to learn and can work the hours? Do you think I should apply online again or just walk into the store and apply? Thanks for the info. Much appreciated.
