So we had a company picnic recently at a park near my work with a pond. After we ate lunch a couple of my coworkers went over by the pond to feed the ducks. Apparently, one of my coworkers wasn’t looking where he was stepping and accidentally tripped over one of the ducks, which sent the little thing into a frenzy. It immediately started hissing while waddling as fast as its little legs could take it right at my coworker, who was sitting with her back turned. I saw what was about to happen, so I naturally yelled “DUCK!!” Which led her to instinctively put her head down, right on eye level with an enraged duck. The scene that followed was both hilarious and unfortunate. She screamed, the duck hissed some more and feathers flew. She got up and ran away, tailed by the angry duck who began nipping at her heels.

All I could do was laugh. I laughed so hard I cried, stopped laughing and then laughed again. Others joined in, but I laughed the hardest. Well, ever since then I can’t see her without almost cracking up again and I’m pretty sure she hates me for it. I can’t even talk about “the incident” without being reduced to howls, but I desperately want to apologize and let her know that I in no way meant to make her feel bad by laughing. Is there a best way to do this?
