Grooming Policy

What's the employee grooming policy in regards to facial hair at UPS? I applied for a package handler position and was asked to attend an orientation next week. There’s no information about this on the career page and the UPS Brown blog has conflicting information. I’d like to keep my beard but I’m willing to shave it off if it going to keep me from getting hired. Anybody know?

My one friend has been working for UPS for years now, he has a beard that he can braid, a pony tail, and is a packer and a delivery man for UPS. I honestly believe yes there are company policies but everywhere you go, some bosses are more relaxed on things. Wherever you go to best of luck

If I remember correctly u can have a beard, it just has to be neat. Now when u attend orientation they will let u know. If you are still not sure ask them they will tell you. Good luck.

Frank, regardless of the policy, when in doubt it is always better to shave it off. Once your hired, and you find out it is acceptable - grow it back.

I would just play it safe and go clean shaven. Either way that will give you an upper hand either and increase your chance of hire

Possibility they might not have a strict facial hair policy, just as long as you keep it short, clean, and will not compromise the safety of coworkers and yourself. But with that being said.... A good first impression is important to get hired. The safe bet is to show up clean and professional, because seeking employment and can always grow a beard back. Or call, hopefully talk to someone who can give you info.
