Went to Training and then...
I am not distressed about this just curious what in the world happened!! So I went to an interview last month for an office position on weekends. I arrived on time but no one seemed to know where the hiring manager was. When he finally came, he agreed that I would be a good fit and could come in to training any day I wanted to. I chose Saturday. He did not mention them that the job requires memorizing a three page script. I was under the impression i would be a secretary and not a sales person. For some reason he always contacted me through his assistant which slowed down communication quite a bit as she wasn't always working. I came in Saturday and he told me to sit and observe the other women answering phones. I did that for three hours while looking over the script. When it was time to leave, I went into his office and asked when should I come in again. He said he would have the assistant call me to go over the script. Well, the assistant never called so I emailed her to get the status. She says sorry, we don't think you're a good fit for our company. My question is: how did me sitting there all day watching other people talking on the phone show them I wasn't a good fit. I did exactly what they told me.

It sounds like they were disingenuous from the very beginning, including a misleading job ad, I am sorry you wasted your time but it you dodged a bullet in my opinion.

When you talked to the hiring manager before the three hour "training", did he tell you what the job duties would be? There seems to be a huge disconnect somewhere and they just wasted your time.
Hi Sarah- when you applied to the job what was the description of that role? Did you apply for a sales role or for an office position? There seems to be a pretty significant disconnect somewhere.
