Weird job hiring experience!
I went to a so called job interview for a wireless sales associate position that was available close to where I live. When I go to the place...I got there an extra 30 minutes early so I decided to wait outside for the rest of the 30 minutes left. When it was finally time for my so called job interview to start that I was scheduled for at 3:00 p.m. I decided to enter the store. When I got there i say hello and ask if i could see the store manager! So the person I ask was actually the manager so I told her I was scheduled for a 3:00 p.m interview with her so she told me to step inside. When I got their in my mind I thought I was going to get a proper job interview like I normally do with the many jobs that I applied to in the past months are so and years past. When I step inside...she ask me if I had any sales experience and I started to talk about where I used to work and type of sales experience that I had. When I started talking she was completely ignoring everything I had to say! Then she started attacking me for the way that I was standing. Me personally I'm a person that grew-up introvert and I'm a person that's been trying to overcome my social anxiety disorder. Normally my social anxiety doesn't affect my abilities in the workforce, but in school it does to a certain extent. I also tend to be awkward when I'm new at place that I never been to or that I feel like a complete stranger. She completely downplay me the entire time and my skils/abilities that I had. Then after like 6 minutes later another person that was scheduled for an interview aswell came in and then after that she completely ignore me the whole time and didn't ask me anything and only asked the other person questions, but the hiring manager only asked like 1 or 3 questions to both of us the whole time and after that she was like im going to hire you both and then start to basically lecture us on things not to do, but didn't mention anything about the real expectations of the job or why this is a great place to work.
Hi Jc Santos ! It sounds like that was a VERY bizarre hiring process and unprofessional. They should not have criticized your posture or gone about the interview in that manner. I think you should take it that you had some good practice and keep looking! If it were me I would trust my instincts and run far away from that position.
