Interview Follow-Up Advice

I interviewed for a position with a Fortune 500 company on 12/1 and thought the interview went very well as I felt comfortable and was able to articulate my skills. I sent a follow up email that same evening thanking the 2 hiring managers for their time. One of the hiring managers replied 2 days later saying thanks for your time and interest in the position. I wrote a follow up email to the hiring manager (who who would also be my direct manager) on 12/12 and she replied that they should be in contact with the candidates within the next few days. I've yet to hear back from either hiring manager and the company website states my application is still under review. Any advice on follow up? I don't want to appear to be pushy or desperate, but when a hiring manager states they'll be in touch and they don't follow up, I find it to be un-professional. I really want this job but can't just keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best for much longer. Any comments or advice would be appreciated - Thanks!!

I think it's ok to follow up once a week.
