PISSED at the DOT!!!!

I recently got pulled over and the state officer said he clocked me going 59 in a 30mph zone. I KNEW that wasn't even possible because I was in 8th gear and coasting along

When he told me the reason for pulling me over, I told him there's no way that was possible! I was driving empty and to reach 59 in 8th would have had to have a heavy load in the trailer and have some serious momentum going. I explained this and mentioned that he prob accidentally clocked one of the passenger cars in the left passing lane.

He must not have liked that because he proceeded with a LEVEL 3 inspection. He came back with an inspection report and no citation to sign. Later on I notice the report had a speeding violation on the report!

Safety dept said there's no way I can fight this violation because I wasn't given a citation?!? Is this true I can't contest this?? WTH

It doesn’t help the situation to argue with a State Patrol Officers. Just follow there directions and get back on the road . Call your loved ones , and be grateful to return to the road . The physics of pulling the load and being in 8th gear meant your odometer reading was at least a specific mileage , the load and GVWR behind you could be larger , greater or exactly where you thought it was . If you’re not hauling anything at all , you could be admonished from charges. Be calm, and don’t argue with your Team . Including you .

Yes, probably. DOT in PA was arookie and gave me a shit "warning citation" for a non-existent log violation. I was so pissed and frustrated but my safety guy said the same thing. I think they do this so it shows that they are really doing something "useful". I just remember my Dad saying "You're gonna eat a bushel of dirt before you die."

I can not just take it to Raleigh for a day . He didn't give a hoot . Ask me again to donate to some law enforcement cause .

Are you a company driver or O/O, doesn't matter ,the truck you were driving, should have a computer on it,a factory one,and maybe a company computer,it can be checked at the time and place of the ticket, I've done this a few times in my years of driving

ALWAYS insist on a citation! Warnings will appear on your CSA as well. A citation will, at least, give you a fighting chance.

Thats is true because it goes on your csa score even tho no citation was given thats why they have been trying to fight the csa scoring because its not a fair system.

I drove for Schneider back when their trucks were governed at 57 mph. We had a guy stopped in ME for doing 65 in a 55 in a bobtail. The driver fought it, but because the company sent only documentation that the trucks were governed, and not a company rep from Green Bay, he lost. Total BS.
