Any advice.... Pls
Hi my name is Ariell and I'm recently divorced and willing to start over with the career path to be apart of an airline in the BWI airport. I have experience with customer service and I'm tech savvy. Lobe to help and persistent to get the job I work hard for but no luck. Been laid off twice and now on unemployment until I find anything better that working for a company that doesn't support their staff. Graduated from Shiver Job Corp for telecommnation and computer repair but still hitting a dead end. Any suggestions pls let me. I'm so tried of working in the mall with no guarantee to stay there long term with benefits. I never got the opportunity to get my foot to the door after having a good interview but always get the same answer is your on call and no answer back. If I can get a job with an airline as a ticket agent or flight attendant I know for sure the my children will have a bright future but I feel as my self esteem get smaller being rejected for a job I thought I knew for sure that I can ASAP. I know it take time but I'm patient person but it's making fear wary about my next step because I don't know what to do or where to go from there. I know with a lil help I can get the ball rolling.
I can tell you that I feel your pain. They call us displaced employees. Too old and overqualified are the excuses I hear most often. My o ly advice is to keep your chin up and keep plugging away at it. You sound like a nice person with the skills required for the positions you are looking for. One thing I've learned in many years of sales and customer service..... Never settle for no as an answer. Closed questions. Ask ones where the answer is yes. iE....I will be the best employee you have ever had...does that sound fair? I will Dave you money...does that sound fair? Etc...hope this helps. Good luck to you!
Reginald .... I was born in 1958 and schools were integrated when I went to sixth grade in my state and county of SC .So that was in 1970 . I went from my elementary school to the all black school which was called "Florence Chapel" and turned into Wellford Intermediate school and D R Hill annex . You have been on here degrading the lady that posted originally, and from their you have degraded white people, Trump, and anyone else that is not of your color... Well we all Bleed Red and you need to either get off an employment site, and FB or Tweet or whatever, but this isn't the place for degrading people. We are all here seeking help. Try ups, great benefits. But you really have to start from the bottom and build up. Some of the drivers get 100k salary.
If you know how to repair computers you could always start your own business. The market isn't saturated with that type of profession so it may be worth looking into. That way you are your own boss and you will be as successful as you want to be. I know you mentioned working for an airline but it's just something to consider after you get back on your feet and have some money coming in. Just a thought.
