Recruiting offices may be Satan.
I found myself in Denver, CO. I got a call that said come to San Diego, I've got a god job for you. That was Friday. Two days and 1,200 miles later I'm in San Diego. I meet with the representative whom I spoke with, and who can believe it, but the job was given to someone at the end of the day on Friday, and we have to meet with all future candidates before they are eligible anyway. But I'm sure we can find you a job soon.
Now we all know there was one job, but because I was in the middle of Downtown Denver when the call was made and I couldn't talk immediately, so the person kept going through applications. This should bother both jobseekers and companies. I got the call, so rationally I'm the best candidate. I didn't get the job and the company didn't get the best recruit. Shame, shame …
Oh my gosh Andrew, I'm so sorry this happened to you! Is there anything the community can do to help you find local job opportunities? Let us know!
