resignation or not
Hey all... Just here to collect your opinion on wether to quit/resign and apply for unemployment status while looking for different job? I wasn't hire twice for the same position I applied at my school where I work for 15 years in phys ed, coaching and assistant athletic director. I was twice didn't hire and they decided to hired someone outside of school with no experience. .. I am in angry mode with this school and I am done. I do not want to continue work for this school... what would you recommend me? stay and look for other job or quit/resign, get on unemployment plan while looking for different job?? Thank you in advance.

Mr. Christopher you seem to me a bright man. But I assure you that you're not the only one person who wants to know rather I do this or that. Actually, you and I my "Dear" are in the same boat. Now let's get to the point of how we could help each other out for not committing a mistake. I've got for basic questions that I can't answer right now, but if u do. " let's quit our job right now? 1- would it be the right moment to quit that job? 2- how am I gonna pay my bills? 3- is the right moment to let my familly down? (Actually, if you've one.). 4- What Am I gonna do next?

I agree with Mariah, I think you are functioning on emotions at this point as you stated you are angry and done with the school.. Whatever your decision is make sure you have thought it through and weighed all the pros and cons. I would stay and look for jobs at the same time, and definitely change my spending habits so I can save more money and then if it gets too bad, I wont be in too much financial trouble. Happy journey to you!

Pray and let God do it, trust me

Just stay till you find something else if you quit they will not give u unemployment. I would be pissed off to just like u thats some nerve, but thats how people are. Good luck to u I wish u nothing but the best and much success!!

Chris, if you quit or resign just so you can look for another job you won't qualify for unemployment, and I'm just curious how would you answer the question of why you left your last job.

Hi Christopher,
You are eligible to collect unemployment when the termination is employer initiated. If you quit/resign you may not get it- research your State law before doing anything.

Christopher if you r not happy with the job at your school than resign its up to u what u decide

I would apply for other jobs and wait until you find a better offer before you quit. The job market is crazy out there!

Man up. Look inward to discover why your management chose other candidates and make the appropriate changes. And please, spare me. Don't become one of "them:" an opportunistic parasite living on the public trough while supposedly looking for alternate work style opportunities.
I know the feeling.
