I had an interview on Friday that, post mortem, felt like a Voight-Kampff scene from Blade Runner. Apparently I'm a replicant. I have over 20 years with of technical expertise in telecom and finance and two college degrees yet employers demand more than mere mortals can provide. I've gone to the effort to improve my people skills and have grown decent competencies in project management, presentation, and even sales, which I abhor. I'm also not a job hopper, but the shelf life for a job seems to be about two years. So the idea of jumping into yet another dead corporate cesspool gives me the heebie jeebies after the latest layoff.
