Thinking outside the box....
Hello! I have an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling but have been trying to think "outside the box" when looking for my next job. Does anyone have some ideas as to what industries or positions I could be of service in with this type of degree?
Hi Kate I think that the ma in your message means that you have a master's degree and mental health I'm very surprised that you have a master's degree and you can't figure out which type of job that you should be applying for anyway maybe you should try child psychology maybe that'll help
You could look into medical social worker, clinical social worker, or hospice social worker field. They are closely related and that is what my degree is in.. Good Luck!!! Kat
What are your interest ? Are you working in the community or school setting ? Look into the VA. That could be a possibility
some areas could be working for the VA - don't know how close you can look under JOBSUSA, for federal jobs. What about homeless? retirement or nursing home. There is educational - what about talking with your professors. find a clinic or start your own. Indeed job search. also congrats on the MA
You can work with the department of education as a mental health consultant or as a health educator in the schools or clinics. I hope my suggestions were of help to you. .
You can definitely fit in almost anywhere, so know that your worth is very valuable all around the board
