Mass Marketing Mess !!
Recently I was called in for an interview, and immediately I thought to myself oh boy !! something does not feel right about this. This was the most unprofessional hiring and screening process that I have ever seen. It felt like a cattle drive, get them in, get him out. I get it ! it's a numbers game. The more applicants that you have the better chances to find a great candidate. But then when I was called back for the second interview, a group of us were taken to another building around the corner and down the street to sit in a public lobby of a building in which they didn't have an office or any business association. After sitting there for three hours while they scanned the yellow pages for business-to-business contacts. I came to the conclusion in no way or no how what I want to be associated with such an inappropriate company. Sorry guys I know sometimes we make choices for a paycheck that will not lead to a career but I highly advise anyone to stay as far away from this company as possible. Unfortunately I'm not at Liberty to mention the company's name because of defamation actions. But word to the wise please stay away from mass marketing companies off of 8th Avenue in New York City. Unless you have nothing better to do then waste your time .

Ohhh wow

You live in a city of 8 million and another 3 million travel in daily to go to work, of course there is alot of people going to be looking for the same job you want !
Fred, thanks for the memories. Over the years I have from time to time had the pleasure of being in some of these waste of time interviews and companies. I remember back in 1981 I went to work in Houston for this company that would make us sing fight songs first, then load up our vehicles, and you decided where to sell the stuff. I needed a job so I did it for like 3 days. I worked for one group in Cincinnati that I started training in the morning, I went to the office at lunch and they were gone. I agree you have to be careful, but it gets better in life...
