Sales Director at Meadowbrook Inn

I started at FedEx Ground as a Package Handler at the Charlotte, N.C. and worked my way into a Outbound Load Supervisor, and then onto the Charlotte Hub Industrial Engineer. I can tell you that the pay is not great compared to corresponding role at U.P.S. The atmosphere in FedEx operations is pressure filled with no tolerance for mistakes and you are only as good as your record indicated for the previous day, meaning you may be a super star for months, but make one of the cardinal errors , and you will be terminated the following day. To put things in perspective, I was responsible for 300 inbound trailers and 300 Outbound trailers going to 72 destinations throughout the U.S. If one of those trailers was dispatched to the wrong destination, I would be terminated the following day. I left my Engineering position FedEx after multiple promotions to take a Banquet and Conference Sales position for a small boutique hotel in the mountains of Western N.C. where is dealt with maybe 15 clients a month and made to the same income as I did at FedEx after being promoted several times and routinely being named Manager of the month. SO NO, INCOME IS NOT GREAT AT FedEx Ground! Certainly not considering the amount of pressure you will be subjected to.

Hope this helps!

Depending on your role in the company they pay pretty well. They do pay for experience, and I was a facilities maintenance technician with over 25 years of experience so I was paid very well.

Courier at Fedex Express

If you are an Express driver in 2016/2017 it did but you start part time. As a result, some drivers work split shifts to get more hours and make more money. Express drivers have 401k and medical benefits that are attractive. Express drivers receive pay increases periodically.Ground drivers on the other hand I am told are often subcontracted and don’t get paid as well and benefits are different if they even exist. My Express facility was a separate warehouse from the Ground warehouse. The nice thing as a driver for Express where I was is that the vehicles were all parked inside for loading and unloading purposes - the packages didn’t get rained or snowed on and neither did you. : )
