Heavy Equipment Mechanic at Oil Field Services International

Confused and alone

I am in my mid 40s and through my life I gained most employment positions by a handshake. I even owned my own company and did most hiring by a hand shake. Due to administrative changes that affected my private sector where I owned and operated my company at, I was forced to shut down because of overhead cost's. So I went back to college and earned my degree in Instrumentation Technologies. But now trying to find employment needs a college course just to figure it out. I have never dealt with this online employment type processes and am very confused at how to go about it, or even where to start. My work alone does not speak for itself anymore in this new age and could really use an advising hand here folks.

Hi Troy: Hopefully the Jobcase community can help! One of the most important things you can do after applying online is to follow up on your applications. ? Try calling or emailing employers a few days after you’ve applied. It’s a great way to stand out from the online crowd. Also, make sure you apply for jobs through Jobcase with these steps:

  • Click on the “Jobs & Companies” text at the top of this page
  • Enter the type of job role you're looking for
  • Click the blue search button If you see something that looks interesting, just click View Job and follow the instructions to apply. Let us know how it works out for you!
