Benefits Call Center at Adn Administrators

Horrible experience can possibly even set me back further.

I recently had a horrible experience with a temp position. It is not and I repeat not the temp agencies fault what so ever it is the fault of the company I was sent to work for and their managers on the job sites. It was a reset job for merchandise you reset the areas and merchandise the product. Not doing this kind of work in the field they are experienced at I was having some difficulty understanding how to read the plan o gram . From the first day being new to this I had problems with the manager she singled me out as her kicking board first she called me stupid in front of other employees, then she said I was dumb in front of employees and customers then she called me a crash dummy meaning I had no brain, it was constant every job that I went to she would find something and it got to be to much for me and me not wanting to do the assignments. But I stuck it out for three weeks because I needed to work and did not want to complain I was scared. I just kept taking it until the day that I could not anymore. I came into the job late because I forgot about an appointment that I made and had to be home for. Knowing I had difficulty in doing this job she handed me the most difficult of projects and told me not to ask questions or to not bother anyone figure it out. I started to get upset I was shaking. Then I finally had to ask a question because I was struggling I went over to her and asked if she would help me she marched over to where I was working and took the sign that was hanging in the wall and pulled it out the sign was attached to a bracket that was weighted to the wall and took it and through it across the aisle. I just calmed down and was shaking once again then she started yelling at me at the top of her lungs. I am not one who walks away but I was so scared because that is not acceptable behavior everyone stopped and looked at me. When she left and went outside to smoke one of the other ladies said to me let me help you and let me tell you never let anyone do that to you please walk out you don't deserve to be treated like this. I said I needed the job and was desperate, she kindly took my hand you don't deserve it we have seen her do this to you for three weeks please respect yourself and just go. I looked at her and she was right. I waited about a half hour asked where the bathroom was and took my coat and left and never looked back. Called the company direct and told them what happened and she stated that none of the managers thought I was going to work out and that Karen was the only one who wanted to put up with me so it was either stick it out or go. I went and then I called the agency and they said I should of notified them right away when I was being bullied but that I did the right thing by leaving. My message is this no one needs to be treated like this you don't need a job that will treat you like this and if you stay please tell someone before it gets to where I ended up I think my fear of this person prevented me from getting better don't do that to yourself respect yourself and walk away. I am still not working and the agency is looking for something for me but I did the right thing even though I have no money now I thank God I have a dad that gives me money till I can get back on my feet but this whole journey has been a learning experience please beware and don't put up with anything even if you do need the money.

Deborah, thank God you finally got a back bone! I've walked out a couple times on jobs when I was mistreated. One time, left for lunch and did not return. Another, waited till end of shift because it was pay day, handed manager my letter on the way out. It felt sooo good each time because I knew I deserved better and was letting them know it! Hold your head up and be encouraged! Never let them see you sweat!!!

I am so sorry that you had this experience. You were correct to report it to the temporary agency and you actually stayed 3 weeks too long if this is how you were being treated. No one has the right to disrespect or bully you inside or outside of the workplace. You also have to respect yourself first in order for others to respect you. I would recommend you maintain a relationship with multiple agencies and chalk this one up as a learning experience. One you do not want to repeat.

Send her a first place ribbon award with the word BULLY on it. You might have a legal cause for a lawsuit especially if others witnessed this.

Also if you are looking for work still in the Livonia area, Sur La Table is hiring. I work there and we definitely could use an extra set of hands

Amen. I usually don't comment on this site but after reading your post I had to comment. I'm so proud of you and what you did. No one deserves to be treated like. I'm 51 years old and I had a similar experience with a job who told me that I wasn't catching on fast enough. They told me I was going to be in training for week within that week they put me on the front- line at a call center. After the week ended I was told that my assignment over from the temp service. The company call them and told them I wasn't catching on on fast enough. I was upset and mad as hell. I was stressing out for nothing. I wasn't going to quit but things happen for a reason. God will provide and he will help you find another job. So stay encourage and don't let No one steal your Joy. You are a child of God. No one can take nothing or do no harm when God has hands on you. Good Luck to you in the near future. Take your time finding that dream Job. You have support from your dad.

Wow! I went through something so similiar, except it wasn't through a temp agency. It was a job posted on zip recruiter. I was recently laid off in September 2017, and I applied for a hr/bookkeeper position. The weekly pay and medical benefits drew my attention and I gave up my unemployment benefits. It was a two week employment try out from hell. The owner was very high strung, rude and disrepectable. His wife was supposed to train me in Paychex and that didn't happen. I was rushed throughout the entire process, constantly asked what are you working on and was asked to mop the floor before I left for the day. The owner yelled and curses out his wife in front of the employees and made threats. After I completed the 2 week trial I didn't make it past the third week and quit. I lost my unemployment benefits and am still out of work. I am protesting the decision at this time.

Never stay anywhere you are not wanted, appreciated, harrassed or disrespected. A peaceful mind is worth way more than all the money in the world.
