Stuck..
I have an old manager who didn't like me from PetSmart because I cared about customers pets more than making a quick buck (i was a dog groomer) . I had to relocate to a different state and I tried to transfer but the closest stores had no positions available . So had to put in my two week notice. Since then (December ) I have applied at so many places... recently within maybe the last month I have put in approximately 25 apps. I have found out from a different manager that I worked with that the other manager has recieved a few calls about me. (He is not a manager that is supposed to be involved in transfers and employment processes i know this from my old DM) Well I have not gotten one call back. I don't know what he says to them but I don't know what to do. If I don't put PetSmart on my applications then it will be like I have no experience . I worked there for 3 years and it is the most customer service I have ever had. If I put PetSmart down then I am gambling on if they call PetSmart or not. Any advice? I am just starting to feel like I won't ever get anything all because he chooses certain people in the salon to hate. ( I am not the first one) ..

Change his number to a friends and have them play the part

Thank you everyone for the advice. I ended up putting my old salon managers cell phone and I have an interview Saturday. I have contacted the corporate office and even the district manager before the only thing that was done was him being told to stay out of it since I always got raises when it came to reviews and I've never been written up for anything.. (This was while I was still working there) which probably made him dislike me more but you have to start somewhere right ?

I'd contact PetSmart's corporate office directly and let them know exactly what you shared here. Good luck! Keep us posted.

Put petsmart on your application and resume, but just list a manager or supervisor that likes you, and that you had a good working relationship with at the petsmart you left. This way you'll get the benefit of your 3 years of work experience without the worry of the manager you had the adverse relationship with black balling you to potential new employers. Hope this helps. Keep your head up. If you get asked about the manager you had and your relationship with him or her, just be honest and say you felt that he or she had personal biasis against you, and provide several other manager or supervisor references that will give you positive reviews.

Never stop trying. Honesty is always the best policy. He probably dislikes.his own job so he takes it out on those who can't really fight back

Explain about the manager and just ask them to give u a try and if u dont workout then they can terminate u. Rover.com if u luv pets.
never stop trying... its to many jobs out there..just do the rite thing and dont stop..keep your head up.. god got u ..keep trying when one door close another one open.. keep trying..
